Black velvet & Fur
Thrifted velvet skirt/Zomp heels/Peep toe necklace/Thifted Led Zeppelin t-shirt/Vintage thrifted fur shawl
Tell me a girl that doesn’t love the feel of
velvet against her skin? I seriously felt like I won the fashion lotto the day I
stumbled upon this beautiful fur piece, I walked out of the op shop (Savers of
course) with butterflies in my belly and a new found spring in my step. I
wasn’t to sure about bringing these snaps out, as they were taken last summer,
and after seeing them over and over again I felt that they lost their luster a
little. Those of you with blogs probably know what I’m talking about, but with
2 persistent sisters, I lost. So here I share with you these snaps, long hurrr
and all… I think this do might have to make a speedy come up, like yesterday.

Closet Peep: Mickey
There’s no doubt about it this guy
definitely has style. Mickey is the only guy we know that can wear a vintage printed
shirt with red-checkered golf pants a classic trench coat and look stylish as
hell. His style is effortless; as we happily rummaged through his wardrobe we
could only walk away truly infatuated and impressed at how the pieces in his
wardrobe had so much character and a quirky element about them. This is a
man who knows exactly what he likes, and by the sounds of things many of his
friends are in on this little secret. Lets just say Mickey’s busted a few
friends rocking his vintage threads without him knowing they even left his
wardrobe (the ultimate compliment). His wardrobe screams Savers meets Madam
Virtue, we had a phenomenal time digging and rummaging through his closet, we
adored his array of Italian leather shoes his collection of vintage and designer
bags… Hey any man with a Givenchy bag is a winner in our books. We left his
apartment with a bounce in our step chiming hey Mickey your so dope, your so
dope you blow our mind Hey Mickey!

1. Name/Nickname: My name is Michael Chazan.
My list of nicknames are too numerous to mention in
full… but here is a little sample:
Mickey The Kid (From when I used to rustle cattle)
The Jizz Mop (From when I used to play team sports with ‘blokes’)
Miica (From the period when we decided two “i’s” looked better than one)
Pickle Cheese and Ham Sandwich (From primary school when my friends discovered my name rhymed with delicious foods)

2. Age: 32
3. Star sign: Taurus
4. Occupation: Blue-sky thinker
5. Describe your wardrobe in 3 words? A moth battlefield
6. What is your most treasured item in your wardrobe?
What is the most treasured item in
your wardrobe: My most treasured item is nearly always the pair of shoes that
is ‘flavour of the month’. Inevitably these shoes die, at which time I either
move on, or scour eBay until the next golden boys present themselves.
NB. A special mention must go to my favorite colorful shirt who has been with me for about 15 years now. (You know who you are buddy and you know I love you.)

7. Your style philosophy? Be
comfortable in as many environments as you can think of in the morning when you
wake up.
You never know if you are going to end up in the queue at Centerlink or at a cocktail party on given day – so I try to dress to fit in at both

8. What are your favorite
shopping destinations? I don’t really have any. In
fact I’m not even sure where most of my clothes came from. I don’t feel like I
go shopping that much.
9. Most memorable fashion mistake? There are lots. I guess you’re not really trying if you don’t
get a bit hurt along the way.
Having said that, I wish I didn’t think you had to dress like a 'Homeboy' if you collected basketball cards in 1994.
Having said that, I wish I didn’t think you had to dress like a 'Homeboy' if you collected basketball cards in 1994.
10. Street
shopping vs. Department stores? I kind of despise big shopping centre’s. I feel much more at
home in places where there aren’t too many people. I really don’t like other
people that much...
11. Rich biiish or bargain hunter? I tend to have quite expensive taste, but being a Blue Sky
Thinker doesn’t pay like it used to. As such, I think most of my clothes are
from Op-Shops or overseas markets. But I kind of like it that way.
12. You wake up in the morning and think what
would…wear, who is your style-spiration? The only two people that
come to mind are Rod Stewart and Luke Emmanuel Hindson. I recently found out
that Luke was trying to look like Rod Stewart also. These days we openly share
satin shirts and tight pants.
13. If
you could have any superpower what would it be? I guess I’d like to fly, but if I could fly I probably wouldn’t
catch the tram anymore and I really like checking people out on the No. 86.
14. Finish
this sentence my guilty pleasure is… I can’t really think of one. My whole life is a bit
of a guilty pleasure really. I think this is probably the same for most of the
people I know.
15. When I grow up I wanna...
Live between a house in the city and a house by the
sea, and spend my days making pretty things that make the world a slightly
better place.
16. What's
your current fashion obsession? It’s been this way for a few years now, but I think it would
have to be tasseled loafers. I just like their bobbly nature.
17. Thought it was a good idea at the time…What’s that
item you bought but have never been able to pull off? I
normally end up wearing most things I buy. I’m sure a lot of people think I’m
not pulling them off, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
18. What
tune is permanent residency on your Ipod? I’ve been listening to the (relatively) new My Bloody Valentine
album A LOT. It’s not really what I would ordinarily listen to, but I’m a bit
obsessed with it. So much beautiful fuzz.
19. Website
you can’t live without? I can live without them all… But I don’t, because I’m a sucker.
20. App
addiction: I’m not really addicted to
any Apps – I probably use the ABC app more than anything else. I like news and
stuff.
21.
Your friends would describe you as?
Absent, then here, then absent again
22.
My style is...
just starting to come in to fashion after about 15 years of awkwardly waiting -
and now I’m kind of ready to just dress like a neo-conservative nobody. Ah
well.
