Here at Collective Closets HQ we wanted to take a minute to wish all of you a Happy Easter! Regardless of your beliefs take this time to relax and enjoy precious memories with family and friends. Easter in our family is a great opportunity for us to get together and enjoy some much needed bonding time and simply count our blessing (with plenty of food & wine). Now we wish that we had a completion of amazing photos of what we got up to over the last few days, but we don’t! Pretty slack hey… at lest we’re being honest. Easter Sunday consisted of lots of last minute grocery shopping in preparation of a small banquet for 8.We pleasantly surprised ourselves with the delicious spread that we put together, Lamb 2 ways, a mouth watering spicy pumpkin and pancetta salad,grilled barramundi but the hit for the night? A fennel and orange salad with roasted caramelized walnuts and honey… Ahhhmazzzzig! I must say photos were also the last thing on my mind as I was admittedly quite worse for wear following celebrations from my 31st birthday (Pictures to follow).
Who doesn't cherish those nostalgic feelings of
Easter? For me it was all about Easter egg hunts, matching church outfits with my sisters, fidgeting in taffeta puffy dresses during Sunday school but best of all that greedy little smirk you gave your doe eyed brother as you manage to
swindle him out of a $5 note as he happily tucks that single gold coin in the
pockets of his dungarees (Ahhh the young and foolish). Remember the joy that Easter egg hunts brought
you, that sheer happiness that consumed your every being. It’s funny to look
back and reminisce how the thought of the “Easter bunny” secretly hiding
chocolate goodies in your backyard would make you loose your damn mind. Now my only
thoughts post these festivities is knowing how many calories I’ve consumed and
lying to myself that I’ll start that diet… right after I inhale the last of
that crème filled egg! GULP!
